Washington, D.C. is about to feel the glow—literally and musically. A candlelit tribute concert celebrating the timeless music of Destiny’s Child will make its highly anticipated stop in the nation’s capital on February 6, featuring special guest Matthew Knowles, the legendary group’s founder and visionary.
Part of the nationwide Destiny’s Child: Reimagined Tribute tour, the experience has already played to sold-out audiences in cities including Houston, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and New York. The D.C. performances mark the final stop of the tour’s first leg, making the evening especially meaningful for fans who have followed the journey city by city.
Set inside the historic National City Christian Church, the 60-minute concert offers a fresh, emotionally rich interpretation of Destiny’s Child’s iconic catalog. Backed by a live string ensemble, the tribute transforms beloved hits like “Say My Name,” “Survivor,” “Independent Women,” “Bills, Bills, Bills,” and “Bootylicious” into orchestral arrangements that feel both intimate and expansive.

“Their music was about believing in yourself, standing tall, and owning who you are,” Knowles shared. “That message continues to resonate across generations and communities.”

The performance is part of The Candlelight Experience, a touring concert series that transforms breathtaking venues across the U.S. into immersive, candlelit settings. Thousands of flickering candles set the stage for an evening rooted in elegance, emotion, and musical excellence—connecting audiences through culture, community, and shared memory.
Destiny’s Child: Iconic Reimagined Tribute spans three decades of music, honoring the themes of empowerment, sisterhood, and resilience that made Destiny’s Child the best-selling female group in history. The result is a multisensory experience that invites guests to dress chic, sing along, and dance in their seats as the music that shaped a generation comes alive in a whole new way.
The tribute will be performed twice on Friday, February 6, with shows at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Doors open 45 minutes prior to each performance. The event is open to guests ages 15 and older, and the venue is ADA accessible.
