Koryn Hawthorne Ushers in a New Era with Uplifting Anthem “His Favorite” Ahead of Big Gospel EP
Koryn Hawthorne is stepping into a powerful new season of music, purpose, and faith.
Fresh off signing with Motown Gospel, the two-time GRAMMY-nominated singer has released her inspiring new single, “His Favorite,” offering listeners a heartfelt reminder that their worth is rooted in God’s love rather than life’s circumstances.
Released today, the uplifting anthem serves as the first taste of Hawthorne’s upcoming EP, Big Gospel, arriving October 2.
Produced by acclaimed hitmaker Lil Ronnie, whose credits include GloRilla, Usher, and Britney Spears, “His Favorite” blends contemporary Gospel with smooth R&B influences while delivering an empowering message of confidence, belonging, and unwavering faith.
Written by Hawthorne alongside Jordan Dollar, Alexandria Dollar, Jeffrey Shannon, Rickey Offord, and Ronnie Jackson, the song encourages listeners to recognize that they are already loved and chosen.
“This song is about knowing your worth isn’t something you have to earn,” Hawthorne shared. “You’re already loved, already chosen, already His favorite. I hope whoever needs to hear that today, hears it.”
The single also introduces listeners to Big Gospel, Hawthorne’s first project since joining Motown Gospel. Executive produced by J. White Did It, the acclaimed producer behind records for Doechii, Cardi B, and Megan Thee Stallion, the five-track EP promises to showcase an elevated sound while remaining firmly rooted in the faith-centered message that has defined Hawthorne’s career.
The project represents more than new music.
It marks the next chapter for an artist who has consistently balanced commercial success with ministry, authenticity, and purpose.
Hawthorne first captured the nation’s attention as a teenager when she became a finalist on The Voice under the mentorship of Pharrell Williams. Since then, the Louisiana native has become one of contemporary gospel’s most celebrated artists, making history as the first female gospel artist in five years to simultaneously top four major Billboard charts.
Her growing list of accolades includes two GRAMMY Award nominations, a Billboard Music Award, an NAACP Image Award, three GMA Dove Awards, and more than one billion streams across digital platforms.
Earlier this month, Hawthorne brought her signature sound to the ESSENCE Festival of Culture, performing on the Get Lifted stage before thousands of fans. She also continues expanding her influence beyond music, previously appearing as a featured speaker during Sarah Jakes Roberts’ Woman Evolve Conference, where she encouraged audiences through her testimony and message of faith.
