Tehillah Music Group is expanding its roster with the addition of one of gospel music’s most recognizable voices, announcing Courtney Franklin as the label’s newest recording artist.
Affectionately known throughout the gospel community as “The Ad Lib King,” Franklin has built a reputation for his passionate ministry, dynamic vocal ability, and unmistakable presence on stage. Now, with the support of Tehillah Music Group, he is embarking on a new chapter that promises to elevate his artistry while continuing his commitment to inspiring audiences through music and faith.
“Courtney Franklin is a unique gift,” said Jerry Parries, President of Tehillah Music Group. “He has spent many years in the industry supporting other artists, and I knew it was his time to spring forth as an artist in his own right. As he continues to develop, he will continue to be something truly special—and that is the reason that Tehillah Music Group is very happy to partner with him.”
Franklin’s influence within gospel music spans decades. Throughout his career, he has shared stages and collaborated with some of the genre’s most celebrated artists, including Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, Mary Mary, Kurt Carr, Kim Burrell, and many others. He also gained widespread recognition as a member of James Fortune’s FIYA, further establishing himself as one of gospel music’s most respected vocalists.
Many fans first discovered Franklin through the beloved duet “I Believe,” recorded with Lisa Page Brooks during the 1990s. The song’s success helped introduce his signature sound to audiences nationwide and paved the way for his debut album, Time, released in 2002.
Beyond music, Franklin continues to make an impact through ministry. He serves as the Founder and Senior Pastor of The Power Spot Church in Memphis, Tennessee, where he leads alongside his wife, First Lady Kanesha Franklin. Together, they remain committed to serving their congregation while extending their message of faith beyond the church walls.
As Courtney Franklin joins the Tehillah Music Group family, the partnership signals an exciting new season for both the artist and the label. With decades of experience, a heart for ministry, and a voice that has inspired countless listeners, Franklin is poised to continue leaving a lasting mark on gospel music.
