Music has always been medicine, and few know how to administer it better than trombone virtuoso and soul-jazz visionary Jeff “Mr. Trombone” Bradshaw. On September 12, Bradshaw releases his highly anticipated sixth studio album, The Cure, via Music Matters/SRG Jazz—a 10-track collection designed to ease the stress of daily life while uniting listeners through the power of sound.
A Musical Remedy for the Times
Bradshaw, an NAACP Image Award nominee, crafted The Cure with a clear purpose: to counterbalance the division and negativity flooding today’s world. “The world today has a disease of heated division and negative discourse. We need a cure. God’s love through music is The Cure,” Bradshaw explains.

The album’s lead single, Nothing Else Matters, is a soulful celebration of love written and produced by longtime friend Vidal Davis, with lyrical contributions from Anthony Hamilton, Jarius Mozee, and Bradshaw himself. “Anthony decided to write a song that celebrated the special someone in your life and Nothing Else Matters was conceived,” Bradshaw shares.
From Viral Moments to Global Stages
Momentum for the project soared earlier this summer when Bradshaw went viral as part of the Summer Horns tour, serenading passengers stranded on a delayed flight. The impromptu performance not only lifted spirits but also spread across social media and national news outlets like Good Morning America, cementing Bradshaw’s reputation as a vessel of joy.

And the music world agrees—The Cure boasts guest features from Grammy® winners Anthony Hamilton, Dave Hollister, and Jeff Lorber, among other heavyweights in Jazz, Soul, and R&B.
The Tour Continues
In between releasing new music, Bradshaw is staying on the road. Fresh off the Summer Horns tour, he continues to make feature appearances with Patti Labelle on The Queens Tour this fall and will headline select dates across the U.S. and abroad. Fans can catch him live in cities including Atlanta, Newark, Washington, D.C., Las Vegas, London, and Philadelphia from September through December.
A Legacy That Transcends Genres
With a career spanning collaborations with icons like Michael Jackson, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Jay Z, Mary J. Blige, Kirk Franklin, Patti Labelle, and The Roots, Bradshaw has long been a cornerstone of the Neo-Soul movement that grew from Philadelphia’s fertile music scene. His ability to merge R&B, Smooth Jazz, Gospel, and Hip-Hop has redefined how audiences experience the trombone—not as background brass, but as a commanding voice at the front of the stage.
As Bradshaw puts it: “I loved making this album. It’s got some familiar grooves along with sophisticated sounds which I know will appeal to old and new fans. Each song sets a certain mood, and that’s why it’s The Cure for whatever ails ya.”
The Cure Arrives Friday
The Cure will be available on all streaming platforms beginning September 12. Whether you’re a longtime fan or discovering Mr. Trombone for the first time, this project promises to uplift, inspire, and remind us of the healing power of music.
