Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Returns to Magic Kingdom With Frightful Fun, Fireworks and Disney Magic

Halloween has officially arrived at Walt Disney World, and Magic Kingdom is once again getting a delightfully spooky makeover.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party kicked off its 2026 season on August 7, launching select nights of after-hours Halloween fun through October 31. The separately ticketed celebration transforms Magic Kingdom with trick-or-treating, Disney Villains, special character appearances, themed entertainment, attraction overlays and one of the season’s biggest spectacles: Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular.

And despite the name, Disney is definitely going big on the “spooky.”

A Not-So-Spooky Night at Magic Kingdom

From 7 p.m. until midnight on select evenings, guests can experience a different side of Magic Kingdom, complete with Halloween costumes, candy trails and familiar Disney characters dressed for the occasion. Party ticket holders can enter the park beginning at 4 p.m. without purchasing a separate daytime theme park ticket for that date.

For anyone who believes trick-or-treating should have an age limit, Mickey apparently disagrees. Adults and children can collect complimentary treat bags and make their way through candy stations scattered throughout the park. Allergy-friendly options are also available through Disney’s teal-token system.

The 2026 festivities also bring some new energy to the party. Captain Jack Sparrow takes over Adventureland for the new Captain Jack’s Buccaneer Bash, while Tomorrowland welcomes A Masquerade with Stitch, featuring Stitch, Lilo and Angel.

Jack Skellington Takes Over Cinderella Castle

One of the biggest reasons to stay late is Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular, the party-exclusive nighttime show hosted by Jack Skellington from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.

The spectacular combines fireworks, projection effects, lasers, lighting, music and storytelling as Jack sends guests on a Halloween adventure alongside Zero. Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy soon find themselves inside a mysterious haunted house filled with dancing skeletons, ghosts and troublemaking Disney Villains.

Cinderella Castle becomes part of the production as elaborate projections transform the iconic landmark throughout the story. The fireworks are currently scheduled for 10 p.m. and are presented only once during each party night.

Longtime Disney Halloween fans may remember the former HalloWishes spectacular, but Not-So-Spooky Spectacular takes a more theatrical approach, mixing the traditional fireworks experience with modern projection technology and character-driven storytelling.

The Sanderson Sisters Are Back

Of course, it would not be Halloween at Magic Kingdom without a little Hocus Pocus.

Winifred, Mary and Sarah Sanderson return for the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, taking over the Cinderella Castle stage alongside some of Disney’s most recognizable villains, including Dr. Facilier, Oogie Boogie and Maleficent.

The sisters attempt to create their ultimate “Hocus Pocus Party Potion” through music, dancing, projections and special effects. Multiple performances are scheduled throughout party nights, giving guests several opportunities to catch the show.

Boo-To-You!

Another returning favorite is Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade, where Disney goes all in on Halloween.

The Headless Horseman kicks off the festivities before a procession of Disney characters, villains and Haunted Mansion residents takes over the parade route. Guests can spot everyone from Mickey and friends to Oogie Boogie, Dr. Facilier and the Hitchhiking Ghosts. Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck and Clarabelle Cow also bring their own Sanderson Sisters-inspired looks to the celebration.

The parade is scheduled twice nightly at 8:15 p.m. and 11:15 p.m., with the later performance often offering guests another opportunity to catch the spectacle after tackling rides, candy stops and other entertainment.

Even the Rides Get Spooky

Several Magic Kingdom attractions receive Halloween twists exclusively for party guests.

Space Mountain goes completely dark with a Halloween soundtrack, Mad Tea Party adds special lighting and music, and Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor joins the Halloween festivities with themed jokes and a trick-or-treat stop. Classics including Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, TRON Lightcycle / Run, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train are also scheduled to operate during the party.

With special entertainment, Halloween-exclusive experiences, costumes, villains, mountains of candy and Cinderella Castle glowing beneath a sky filled with fireworks, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party continues to offer Disney fans a playful way to celebrate spooky season without leaving the magic behind.

The 2026 party runs on select nights through October 31, with tickets ranging from $119 to $229 before tax depending on the date.
