South Florida is excitedly buzzing as the celebration for Dominica’s first Olympic gold medalist, Thea LaFond-Gadson, continues in grand style! The Jump For Joy event, set to take place on Wednesday, October 9, from 6 PM to 10 PM at the Miramar Multi-service Complex, promises to be an electrifying evening. This authentic Caribbean celebration will honor Thea’s extraordinary achievements and raise essential funds for young athletes in Dominica.

As part of Miami-Broward Carnival Week, Jump For Joy invites everyone from across the Caribbean to come together under the vibrant theme of “One Caribbean, One Love.” Whether you’re from Jamaica, Trinidad, Haiti, or anywhere else, bring your flags and proudly represent your island! The evening will be a spectacular mix of cultural unity, showcasing the undeniable strength of the Caribbean spirit.

Miramar Vice Mayor Alexandra P. Davis expressed her excitement for the event: “Events like Jump For Joy are vital to our diverse community. It’s an opportunity to raise awareness and support our neighbors in need while celebrating the incredible accomplishments of Thea LaFond-Gadson. We’re honored to host this celebration and showcase the power of unity within the Caribbean community right here in Miramar.”
