After years of helping shape the sound of modern R&B, Eric Bellinger is putting his name, his story and the man he has become front and center.
The 2x GRAMMY® Award-nominated singer, songwriter and producer has officially released his self-titled album, Eric Bellinger, available now via Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins’ EVOLVE Music in partnership with TAMLA/Motown.
More than simply another addition to his extensive catalog, the 10-track project finds Bellinger reflecting on fatherhood, marriage, vulnerability, grief, commitment, purpose and emotional growth while remaining rooted in the contemporary R&B sound that has defined his career.
Eric Bellinger Gets Personal
There is significance in an artist choosing to make a self-titled album, particularly this far into a career.
For Bellinger, Eric Bellinger serves as a portrait of where he stands today—not only as an artist, but as a husband, father and man who has experienced both success and loss.
The album moves beyond traditional conversations about romance and relationships to explore the emotional realities that come with maturity. Throughout the project, Bellinger tackles everything from needing help and accepting rejection to closure, family and carrying the responsibilities that come with success.
That vulnerability was introduced ahead of the album through songs including “Cry In Front of You,” “Just Like You” and “Fatherhood.”
Together, the records signaled that this chapter would allow audiences to hear a different side of an artist who has spent years crafting songs for both himself and some of music’s biggest names.
“Fatherhood” Celebrates Another Side of the R&B Star
Among the album’s most personal moments is “Fatherhood,” a record that places family at the center of Bellinger’s storytelling.
The song reflects the larger direction of the project as he embraces the many dimensions of adulthood without abandoning the confidence and charisma longtime listeners have come to expect.
There is also grief woven into the album. The project draws inspiration from some of Bellinger’s most profound life experiences, including the loss of his mother and the continued influence she has on his perspective, purpose and music.
It makes Eric Bellinger not simply a collection of songs, but a snapshot of an artist processing life in real time.

From Behind the Pen to Center Stage
Bellinger’s name has been connected to R&B hits for years—even when he wasn’t necessarily the voice audiences heard singing them.
As a songwriter, he has contributed to music for artists including Chris Brown, Usher, Justin Bieber, Wale and Teyana Taylor. His work with Chris Brown includes contributions to the GRAMMY® Award-winning F.A.M.E. and co-writing “New Flame,” which earned Bellinger a GRAMMY® nomination for Best R&B Song.
His own career has grown alongside those songwriting accomplishments.
Across projects including The Rebirth, Eric B for President, Cuffing Season, Born II Sing and 1-800-HIT-EAZY, Bellinger has built an extensive solo catalog while generating nearly two billion streams.
His album New Light earned a GRAMMY® nomination for Best Progressive R&B Album, while songs including “G.O.A.T.” and “Drive By” achieved RIAA Gold certification.
Building an Album for His Legacy
With his self-titled project, Bellinger is bringing those years of experience into a body of work designed to represent who he is at this stage of his journey.
The album also marks a new business and creative chapter through his relationship with legendary producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins’ EVOLVE Music, in partnership with TAMLA/Motown.
The complete Eric Bellinger tracklist includes:
- “I Need Help”
- “Cry In Front of You”

- “Closure”
- “Thank You For Telling Me No”
- “Just Like You”

After spending years writing records that helped tell other artists’ stories, Eric Bellinger gives the accomplished singer-songwriter space to tell his own.
