Exclusive Review: Smokie Norful’s “I Still Have You” Listening Party
On May 29th, Truth Midtown in Atlanta hosted an intimate listening party for Smokie Norful’s highly anticipated project, “I Still Have You.” The event, filled with heartfelt moments, marked his return to music and captivated all who attended. “I Still Have You” by Smokie Norful is guaranteed to be a musical project that fans will enjoy this summer.
Hosted by Neiko Flowers from Praise 102.5, the evening included stories, Q&A sessions, and the sharing of personal struggles that inspired the album. Smokie, accompanied by his son Ashton, revealed the deep significance behind the project. Despite being told he and his wife would never have children, Smokie now celebrates this project featuring songwriting and production by his sons Ashton (SNW) and Tre, reflecting his enduring faith.
Highlights included the crowd favorite “There Will Never Be,” a gospel twist on an R&B classic, and the guaranteed favorite “Blessings,” produced by his sons, which will definitely be associated with a new TikTok craze. The latest single, “In My Name,” a remake of a gospel classic, is quickly climbing the charts and is soon to be another number one hit for the gospel recording artist, showcasing Smokie’s vocal talent and innovation.
