Kym Whitley and Buddy Lewis Bring the Laughs Back with the Return of “Whacked Out Wednesdays” at HaHa Comedy Club
Comedy veterans Kym Whitley and Buddy Lewis are once again creating opportunities for the next generation of comedians with the return of “Whacked Out Wednesdays,” a monthly comedy showcase set to relaunch on August 5 at 8:00 p.m. at the legendary HaHa Comedy Club in North Hollywood, California.
Known for her standout performances in Happy Gilmore 2, Next Friday, and Act Your Age, Whitley joins forces with longtime comedian Buddy Lewis, whose career spans appearances on Martin, HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, and BET’s Comic View, to provide emerging comedians with a stage to sharpen their craft and connect with live audiences.
More than just another comedy night, Whacked Out Wednesdays is designed to spotlight fresh voices and fearless creativity. Held on the first Wednesday of every month, the showcase invites rising comics to test new material while giving audiences a front-row seat to comedy’s future stars.

The event also continues the legacy of the HaHa Comedy Club, one of Los Angeles’ most respected comedy venues. Since opening in 1988, the club has served as an important launching pad for diverse comedic talent, giving performers opportunities at a time when many found it difficult to secure stage time elsewhere. What began as a former Mexican restaurant evolved into a cornerstone of the comedy scene, helping countless comedians develop their voices before larger audiences.
Guests attending Whacked Out Wednesdays can expect an evening filled with original material, fresh perspectives, and unforgettable laughs from comedians eager to make their mark in the industry.
The event is open to guests 18 and older, with doors opening at 7:30 p.m. A two-item minimum per person applies, with food and beverage options available, including non-alcoholic selections.
