Singer-songwriter and culture activist Simone Green is preparing to release one of the most personal projects of her career with her highly anticipated sophomore album, Black Queen, arriving worldwide on August 8, 2026, through her independent label, Soulistic360 RPS.
More than an album, Black Queen is a celebration of resilience, healing, confidence, and the enduring strength of Black women. Across six powerful tracks, Simone delivers music rooted in lived experience while encouraging listeners to embrace their worth without apology.
“After everything I’ve experienced in my own life—from surviving breast cancer twice, to building businesses, leading bands, and navigating an industry that often asks women, especially Black women, to make themselves smaller—I wanted to create a body of work that celebrates our power instead of our pain,” Simone shares. “This album is a love letter to Black women who have earned every crown they wear.”

Earlier this year, Simone introduced audiences to the album’s title track, “Black Queen,” which quickly resonated with listeners around the world. The single inspired her inaugural Black Queen Promotional Tour, making stops in New York, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, and her hometown of Chicago. The accompanying music video also gained exposure through BET Soul, BET Her, and BET.com, helping the anthem reach an even wider audience.
Continuing the album rollout, Simone is now introducing “Breathe,” a soulful record that explores healing, emotional growth, and navigating complicated relationships. Written by Simone Green and Jeffery Dillard, with production by Dillard, the song encourages listeners to find peace even during life’s most challenging moments.

Another standout on the project is “The Message,” an uplifting song born from compassion and faith. Inspired by conversations with people facing personal struggles, Simone says the record was created to remind listeners that hope remains within reach.
“One of my favorite lines in the song is, ‘Hold on, be strong. God’s got a plan for you. Just breathe. Believe. You will make it through,'” she explains. “Those words capture the heart of the message I wanted to share.”
For Simone, Black Queen is also about legacy. As a two-time breast cancer survivor, entrepreneur, bandleader, and independent artist, she hopes the project reminds people that their stories matter, their voices deserve to be heard, and their greatness never requires permission.
Featuring production from SFR, Jeffery Dillard, and Arnell Newman, Black Queen stands as both an empowering musical statement and a tribute to Black women whose courage, beauty, and resilience continue to inspire generations.
The six-track album will be available on all major streaming and digital platforms beginning August 8, 2026.
