Good Times star: Ja’net DuBois dies at 74.
Ja’net DuBois passed away at her Glendale, California home on Tuesday morning February 18th. She played the infamous role of Willona Woods Good Times (sitcom) . Ja’net was 74. The stars passing made news across the world and cast of the 1970s sitcom began to post tributes in remembrance of her on all social media platforms.
Thelma Evans on Good Times (BernNadette Stanis) posted a video tribute to her co-star.
“Rest In Peace Ja’Net DuBois. We had so many wonderful memories on Good Times,” she said in the video.
Icon Janet Jackson took to social in a heartfelt message Janet was her adopted daughter Penny Woods in the sitcom

“I am so very saddened to hear my longtime friend Ja’Net DuBois has passed away,” Jackson wrote. “I saw first hand how she broke stereotypes and changed the landscape for Black women in entertainment. I’m grateful in recent years I had a chance to see her and create more lasting memories. I pray for comfort for all her family and friends. Thank you Ja’Net, I’ll miss you.”
Many others posted included : Good Times executive producer Norman Lea, Viola Davis Finally, Viola Davis, who appeared in a live Good Times remake on ABC last December posted a photo on Twitter of the two of them on set together and an inspirational message.“Oh man!!! Just saw you! What a pleasure it was to meet you,” “You shaped so much of the best memories of my childhood! God bless you, Ja’net DuBois! RIP.”
