Tasha Smith Leads New Thriller Desire: A Temptations Story, Premiering This Saturday

Actress, director, and powerhouse creative Tasha Smith is stepping back into the spotlight in a bold new role. Known for her dynamic performances and directorial work on Survival of the Thickest and beyond, Smith stars in and executive produces Desire: A Temptations Story, a steamy suspense drama set to premiere this Saturday, April 19 at 8/7c.

In Desire, Smith takes center stage as Kendra, a successful and inspirational talk show host whose life takes an unexpected detour following the death of her mother. At the advice of her team, Kendra retreats for a much-needed break, but instead of healing in peace, she finds herself swept into an electrifying vacation romance. Enter Malcolm, played by NAACP Image Award winner Adrian Holmes (Bel-Air), a charming and mysterious stranger who quickly captures Kendra’s heart.

What starts as a passionate escape quickly spirals into something far more complicated. In a whirlwind decision, Kendra and Malcolm marry on impulse—but once they return home, buried secrets and hidden intentions rise to the surface. Kendra’s picture-perfect fantasy begins to unravel as she learns that some desires come at a devastating cost.

The film dives deep into themes of grief, vulnerability, and the dangerous allure of charm unchecked. Smith’s portrayal of Kendra anchors the story with raw emotion and magnetic presence, while Holmes delivers a performance that’s equal parts seductive and unsettling.

Rounding out the cast are Jamall Johnson, Millan Tesfazgi, Miranda Edwards, Everick Golding, Requell Jodeah, and Diana Pavlovská, each bringing intrigue and tension to the screen.
