The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, GA, set the stage for the 9th Annual Black Music Honors on Saturday, May 18th. This highly anticipated event is a tribute to the extraordinary achievements and profound influence of Black music icons, showcasing their unparalleled contributions to the music industry.
The star-studded affair featured an impressive lineup of musical luminaries, including Ceelo Green, MC Lyte, Marsha Ambrosius, Chrisette Michele, Next, Mr. Talkbox, J. Brown, After 7, Jekalyn Carr, Mali Music, Ruben Studdard, Kim Burrell, BLK ODYSSY, Donald Lawrence, Kevin Lemons & Higher Calling, Ricky Dillard, MonoNeon, Shanice, The Chi (Carl Thomas, Dave Hollister & Syleena Johnson), Tone Stith, and David & Tamela Mann.

The ceremony, co-hosted by singer and actress LeToya Luckett alongside comedic actor DeRay Davis, honored legendary figures such as Johnny Gill, Patrice Rushen, Bootsy Collins, and Hezekiah Walker. A surprise tribute to MC Lyte added an extra touch of excitement to the evening.
The televised special of the 9th Annual Black Music Honors will premiere on the Stellar Network on Saturday, June 1 at 8 pm EST, with a rebroadcast at 10 pm EST. It will also air nationally from June 8 to June 30, coinciding with Black Music Month. Additionally, the show will be broadcast on Bounce TV on Wednesday, June 19th (Juneteenth) at 9 pm EST.

The event, proudly presented by Procter and Gamble, received generous support from sponsors such as Walmart, Verizon, State Farm, General Motors (Chevy), Disney, St Jude, Johnson & Johnson, and AARP, highlighting the industry’s recognition of the importance of honoring Black music excellence.

Behind the scenes, the success of the Black Music Honors is attributed to Executive Producer Don Jackson, Producer and Executive in Charge of Production Jennifer J. Jackson, Producer and Director Michael A. Johnson, Talent Producer Erin Johnson, and Music Director Daniel Moore, whose dedication and expertise ensured a memorable and impactful event.
