In communities where grief often goes unanswered and prevention feels out of reach, Ju’stice is building something different. A movement rooted in action, healing, and real solutions.
Based in Columbia, South Carolina, Ju’stice is a nonprofit dedicated to preventing youth gun violence, supporting grieving families, and empowering young people through education, mentorship, and advocacy. But behind the mission is something far deeper. The organization was founded in memory of Julian Keel, a young life tragically taken by gun violence just days before his seventeenth birthday. Out of unimaginable grief, his family made a decision to turn that pain into purpose, creating a movement that now stands to protect other families from experiencing the same loss.

This is not performative work. It is hands on, community driven impact designed to save lives and restore hope.
Through its anonymous gun drop initiatives, Ju’stice has already helped remove illegal firearms and thousands of rounds of ammunition from the streets. With over 2000 potential lives impacted, the organization is proving that prevention is possible when communities are given the right tools and support. Each weapon surrendered represents more than just a statistic. It represents a life that could be saved, a family that may never have to grieve, and a future that remains intact.
But Ju’stice understands that removing weapons is only part of the solution.
The organization’s work extends into healing through programs like the Angel Experience, which provides support, comfort, and meaningful moments for families navigating the aftermath of loss. At the same time, youth focused initiatives and partnerships with schools and law enforcement are creating safer environments and strengthening the relationship between communities and those sworn to protect them.

At the center of this movement is founder Adrien Lake Watson, whose leadership is shaped by both professional expertise and personal purpose. After experiencing loss firsthand, she transformed that pain into a mission that continues to impact lives, build trust, and create pathways for real change.
Ju’stice is not just addressing a problem. It is building a solution.
Now, the organization is expanding that mission even further with the launch of its first community focused Ju’stice Week, taking place June 4 through June 6 in Columbia, South Carolina.

More than a series of events, Ju’stice Week is an extension of the organization’s purpose. A three day experience designed to engage the community, empower youth, and reinforce the importance of prevention, healing, and connection.
The week begins with an Anonymous Gun Drop Off Event, offering a safe and judgment free opportunity for individuals to surrender firearms while showcasing the real impact of weapons already removed from the community.
It continues with a Youth Revival, bringing young people together for an evening centered on inspiration, accountability, and making choices that shape a stronger future.
The experience concludes with the Ju’stice Games, a community centered event featuring a first responder flag football matchup that symbolizes unity, trust, and the shared responsibility of protecting the next generation.
Ju’stice Week stands as a reflection of what the organization represents. Action over silence. Community over division. Purpose over pain.
Because for Ju’stice, this work is not seasonal. It is a commitment to creating safer communities, restoring hope, and ensuring that more lives are given the chance to thrive.
