Billboard Chart-Topping Singer Mariah Dawne Returns With Powerful New Single “Make Room” Featuring Bailey

The soulful singer-songwriter embraces vulnerability, healing and emotional freedom in her latest release, arriving October 16.

Billboard chart-topping R&B singer-songwriter Mariah Dawne, professionally known as MARIAH., is preparing to make her highly anticipated return with her heartfelt new single, “Make Room,” featuring Bailey, available Friday, October 16, 2026.

Known for her soulful vocals, emotionally driven storytelling and authentic approach to music, Mariah enters a new chapter of her artistry with a record that encourages listeners to confront emotional baggage, release what no longer serves them and create space for healing, growth and new beginnings.

Written by Mariah Dawne and Brandon Bailey and produced by Emery Varrie III, “Make Room” explores the emotional weight people carry throughout life, from past relationships and unresolved hurt to memories, expectations and patterns that prevent personal growth.

Making Room for Healing and Growth

For Mariah, the message behind the single is deeply personal and intentionally reflective.

“This song serves as an ode to the weight we choose to release,” Mariah shares.

The singer encourages listeners to examine what they continue to hold on to and whether those emotional attachments contribute to their growth or keep them from moving forward.

Through “Make Room,” Mariah delivers a powerful reminder that emotional healing often begins with an honest conversation with ourselves.

The record speaks to the complexities of the human heart, where love, disappointment, hope, frustration and memories can coexist. Rather than avoiding those emotions, Mariah challenges listeners to acknowledge them and determine what deserves to remain.

At its core, “Make Room” is more than a song about letting go. It is about making the intentional decision to create room for peace, healthier relationships and new possibilities.

A Voice That Continues to Make an Impact

Born Mariah Dawne Hester in Shreveport, Louisiana, the singer’s musical journey began at just five years old. Her early experiences in church choirs, talent competitions and school productions, alongside vocal coaching from her mother, helped establish the foundation for her artistry.

Her breakthrough single, “Material Girl,” reached the Billboard R&B Top 30, introducing audiences to her distinctive sound and songwriting abilities.

Since then, Mariah has continued building an impressive catalog with releases including “Hold on Me” (Acts I and II), featuring Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Raheem DeVaughn, “Pink Lemonade,” featuring The Colleagues, and “Won’t Let Go.”

Her growing presence in entertainment has also led to appearances on The Kelly Clarkson Show, FOX SOUL, CBS’s Great Day Washington, FOX 5’s Good Day Atlanta and several other nationally and regionally recognized television programs.

A New Era for MARIAH.

As CEO of her independent record label, Breaking Dawne Entertainment, in partnership with SRG-ILS Group (Virgin Music/UMG), Mariah continues to expand her creative independence while preparing for the next phase of her career.

The singer plans to release new music approximately every two months, building anticipation for her debut EP, currently scheduled for spring 2027.

With “Make Room,” Mariah offers listeners an intimate introduction to the emotional depth and musical direction of this new chapter.

“Make Room” featuring Bailey arrives October 16, 2026.

And if there is one message Mariah wants listeners to carry with them, it is that sometimes moving forward requires leaving something behind.

Because before life can fill you with something greater, you have to be willing to make room for it.
