Jekalyn Carr’s Stellar Triumph and New Musical Adventure
In an electrifying night at the 39th Stellar Gospel Music Awards, GRAMMY® nominated and Stellar Award-winning artist Jekalyn Carr emerged as the second-biggest winner, taking home five prestigious trophies. Carr’s remarkable achievements included awards for Traditional Female Artist of The Year, Albertina Walker Female Vocalist of The Year, Traditional Album of The Year, and Traditional Artist of The Year. Adding to her accolades, the striking cover of her latest self-titled album, designed by Octavius Holmes, won Recorded Music Packaging of The Year.
But the celebration doesn’t stop there! Riding high on her recent wins, Carr has announced her next exciting project, Jekalyn Carr Presents…The Inspiration Project, set to release on September 6th. This new venture showcases Carr’s talents not only as a powerhouse singer but also as a gifted songwriter and producer. The project introduces a dynamic lineup of artists she has nurtured and collaborated with throughout her ministry journey. Fans can look forward to performances by Emoni Wilkins, Jericho Worship, Timothy Rogers, Ashley Charisse Mackey, JD Fomby, and a special unplugged version of her latest top 15 hit, “You Carried Me.” Each track is penned and produced by Jekalyn Carr and her father, Allen Carr.
The first single, “Wonder,” led by Emoni Wilkins, will be available on all major streaming platforms on August 2nd. Jekalyn Carr expressed her excitement about the project, stating, “I am happy to introduce to the world these new artists on my upcoming project. I believe that they all have something special to share.”
In addition to her Stellar Awards success, Carr has earned two nominations for the upcoming 55th GMA Dove Awards: Traditional Gospel Recorded Song of the Year for “I Believe God” and Traditional Gospel Album of the Year for her album Jekalyn. The awards ceremony, presented in partnership with the Cantinas Arts Foundation, will take place on October 1, 2024, at the Allen Arena in Nashville, TN. Fans can catch the event on TBN and TBN+ on October 4, 2024, at 8 pm and 10 pm ET, with a simulcast on SiriusXM The Message.
