Lifetime is adding star power to the highly anticipated Terry McMillan Presents film series with “Tempted By Love,” headlined by Garcelle Beauvais. Known for her roles in “Black Girl Missing,” “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” and “Coming to America,” Beauvais stars in and executive produces the film as part of her extended collaboration with the network. Joining her is Vaughn W. Hebron (“The Game: Reboot,” “King Richard,” “Tyler Perry’s The Oval”), who not only stars but also co-produces, along with Donna Biscoe (“The Supremes at Earl’s Cafe,” “Reasonable Doubt,” “Saints and Sinners”).

The film also features a reunion of talents from the iconic “Waiting to Exhale” with Lela Rochon (“Any Given Sunday,” “The Family Business: New Orleans”) and Emmy-Award winner Loretta Devine (“P-Valley,” “Family Reunion”). “Tempted By Love” is set to premiere on Saturday, August 17th at 8/7c.
Plot Synopsis
In “Tempted By Love,” Ava (Beauvais), a world-renowned chef based in Europe, returns to South Carolina to care for her elderly aunt (Biscoe) after she suffers a fall. Upon arrival, Ava is picked up by Luke (Hebron), a charming driver 20 years her junior. Despite the age gap, Ava and Luke discover a passionate connection, bonding over their shared love for food, family, and fun. However, Ava soon faces a dilemma as she realizes that Luke has much to experience in life, and she must decide between pursuing this new romance or focusing on her career and personal relationships.

“Tempted By Love” is executive produced by D’Angela Proctor for Undaunted Content in association with GroupM Motion Entertainment. McMillan and Beauvais also serve as executive producers, alongside Richard Foster and Chet Fenster from GroupM Motion Entertainment. The film is directed by Taliah Breon, with a script penned by Tamara T. Gregory.
